Echogenic Kidneys *Update!*

We Left our home tuesday morning at 7am, to get to the Childrens Hospital for our 8:30 appointment, pretty easy drive, minus the unexpected traffic and getting a little bit lost!
We got there at 8:25 am and checked in at Radiology in the 'yellow' section of the hospital, from there we were sent to Ultrasound, where we waited about 25 mins to be taken in, the ultrasound lasted about 45 minutes ( most of witch i was waiting for the ultrasound tech to return with hubbie! ) while she was doing her thing i was watching VERY intently, asking lots of questions like '' whats that dark spot there?'' she replied with that is your babies stomach! :) then she went to an area in witch i KNEW it was his kidneys, i saw dark spots all over them, and suddenly said '' those are his kidneys? and there are still dark spots all over them?'' she said Yes, but there are ALWAYS darkspots on kidneys, everyones kidneys! so i knew right there the description of what they found previously was incorrect.
Once the ultrasound was over, we headed to the 'red section' of the hospital and checked in there, we had to wait in line for about 10 other people to get checked in, mean while the lady infront of me was practically dying, she was vomiting in line, and moaning and crying, there was blood all down the front of her shirt, the smell of vomit was becoming over whelming, and i felt horrible that she had to stand in line, so finally a nurse came and took her to her appointment ahead of everyone else /whew!~
once we were checked in we were given a questionairre about hubbies and my family history, kidney disease, downs.. etc etc None of witch is in our family, even going back a few hundred years. Once we handed in that, they gave us a booklet and told us to read it while we were in the waiting room, it was a booklet all about Downs. witch FREAKED me out.. WHY would they give me that to read?! im here for babies kidneys not downs!
Alas 30 or so minutes later we were finally taken in to talk to a nurse, whom as we sat down said, 'there is nothing wrong with your baby, so you can relax a bit' - a huge Sigh of relief came from both me and hubbie, and he grasped my hand in joy :)
she then continued to tell me why they thought there might be something wrong, she told us that babies kidneys appeared bright, witch is a cause for concern,  she then said that they decided to look over ALL of babies organs, and noticed that they ALL appeared brighter.. she then told me that its my fault, and that i am so skinny that the ultrasound waves pass through me much easier than they do the average person! So my body pretty much fooled the doctors into thinking there was something wrong, but there is nothing :)
after all that talk she told me some.. disappointing news.  i walked into that hospital thinking i was 37 weeks along, she tells me that i am only 34 weeks. i was SHOCKED! Apparently when i had my very first ultrasound, the raidiologist wrote down my EDD ( estimated due date) as August 24th, but he wrote it so messy, that my OBGYN read it as august 4th..  Jeebus! what a simple little error, yet so dangerous! i could of ended up being Induced, and wouldnt have even been full term!!!
At first i didnt believe it, i thought Pshh they are screwing with me again, just like last time!
But he continued to tell me, that if he was wrong about this new due date, that there would be SERIOUS concern about my babies growth and stated '' You do NOT want me to be wrong about this''  i was still very disappointed but i understand that it means my baby is and will continue to grow healthy for a few more weeks until he is absolutely ready to meet us :)
Once that was all done, Hubbie and i celebrated by going to babies R us and doing a little bit of shopping, witch i enjoyed so much :)

In conclusion, i have a very happy and healthy baby, who is extending his `rental agreement'  and is very welcome to it <3
